Convention 169 of the International Labour Organization (ILO) defines that towns and nationalities have the right to plan their own development. Also, the AmazonIan Special Territorial Circumscription Act, with respect to the common fund, determines that indigenous towns and nationalities will access the resources of this fund; through their representative organizations, to plan and implement their life plans.
In this context, the Secretariat of the Amazon defined the criteria constituting life plans with the following elements: territory, bioeconomy, multiversity, worldview, autonomy and governance and sacred basins.
